Aktaş Holding attracted a great attention with its innovative products at the "Turkeybuild İstanbul 2019" fair which is the oldest fair on the building sector in Turkey and which marked its 42th anniversary this year.
Ak-İzo Yalıtım Sistemleri, a subsidiary of Aktaş Holding active in Construction and the pioneer and leader in the production of EPDM membrane in our country, showcased at the fair its Lineflex branded, environment-friendly and state-of-art products.
Welcoming its visitors on the stand No. 3B112 on the Saloon 3, at the Turkeybuild İstanbul Fair, the biggest building materials fair in the region, Ak-İzo represented our country in the best way with its qualified products developed for waterproofing solutions.
Environmentally friendly products
Stating that the International Kyoto Ecology Agreement agrees and suggests the EPDM membrane as the most eco-friendly roofing material with the longest lifetime of all the existing membranes, Aktaş Holding CEO İskender Ulusay underlined: "the EPDM, which is an excellent insulation material, also has the required insulation properties in roof insulation. The environmental impact of the products produced by Ak-İzo is quite limited and membranes are 100% recyclable after use. Insulation thermal performance of Lineflex membrane use, whether black or colored, reduces energy consumption."
Rain water can be recovered and reused
Expressing that thanks to the properties of EPDM polymer and Lineflex membrane formulations, it does not pollute the rainwater coming into contact with its surface and does not create any migration from its structure, Ulusay said: "Therefore, it allows collecting and recycling rainwater. In fact, it is the only product that can be used in water collection drainages. You can step into a more sustainable life with Lineflex. Lineflex EPDM membranes are chemically stable and do not contain hazardous additives or plasticizers. As a result, no chemicals are released into the environment during the lifetime of the product and recycling processes. Lineflex EPDM membrane stands out with its long service life when compared to multilayer heavy bituminous or chlorinated membranes in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) analyzes and is a favorite insulation material when combined with low weight / volume properties. The advantages include production, installation and assembly, dismantling and disposal or recovery, starting from raw material production. It does not contain any CFC, HCFC, phtalates, dioxine, low grade hydrocarbons or other harmful chemicals when compared to other membrane products. The fact that the expected service life of these products is more than 50 years and they require thinner isolation for the desired properties is an important saving indicator in the use of natural resources in the world. Therefore, Lineflex EPDM membrane should be preferred according to LCA criteria."
Increasing market share with each passing year
Stating that the fair, which was held between 18-22 June, hosted by Istanbul TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center, contributed to the development of the sector, İskender Ulusay emphasized that as Ak-İzo, they continue to increase their market share in the sector with each passing year.
Underlining that the effective use of resources is becoming more and more important day by day, Ulusay stated that they undertook important works in terms of protection and development of water resources in our country and that they developed especially environment-friendly and value-added products.

Underlining that Ak-İzo offers waterproofing solutions in many different application areas from foundation to roof, façade to terrace and pool floors and thus providing significant added value to our country and sector in this field, Ulusay added that the fair, which is the most important organization of the region in the sector, was highly productive for them.
