An example contribution from Aktaş Holding to the collaboration of industry - university

Aktaş Holding has realized an example project for the industry - university cooperation. In this direction, Aktaş Holding signed an important protocol with Bursa Technical University (BTU).

Within the scope of cooperation; it is taken as a goal to contribute to the university industry cooperation by making mutual studies in the fields of scientific research, education and practice among the institutions and to strengthen the competitiveness with the activities such as AR-GE, innovation, design, system integration, foreign trade and certification in the field of technological innovation, and also to conduct results-oriented studies on project development and execution related to national and international grant programs.

Aktaş Holding Board Member and Chief Executive Officer Sami Erol and Rector of BTU Prof. Dr. Arif Karademir took part in the protocol carried out at BTU.

Speaking at the organization, Sami Erol expressed their satisfaction with the protocol.

Bursa has worldwide advantages

Despite the fact that Bursa is highly developed in the industrial field, Erol noted that the city embraces the technical university only recently and said, "This cooperation is a concrete reflection of our good intentions. Bursa has world-wide advantages. We are highly developed in this area. We have to put more value-added productions next to the $ 500 billion export target determined by our state." Stating that this added value is possible with universities, Erol said that they attach great importance to the protocol they signed with BTU.

Technocities must be established

Expressing that the university and the industry must act together for the future of the country, Rector Prof. Dr. Arif Karademir also noted that students will become more qualified with industry cooperation. Karademir, underlining that they are ready for all kinds of support in this issue, expressed: "There are studies for establishing vocational schools within the organized industrial zones. This is the right place to establish colleges and technocities. The establishment of Technocities in the industrial regions producing advanced technology will be a great success for the future. Because the human resource needs to be used effectively." Karademir added that more R&D work has to be done.

Collaborative works will be done

On the other hand, collaborative works will be done between the Aktaş Holding and BTU with the signed protocol in the field of scientific research, education and training and application.

Under the protocol, the Parties will work jointly on project development and implementation of national and international funding programs within the scope of competitiveness strengthening activities such as R&D, innovation, design, system integration, foreign trade and certification in the field of technological innovation, to organize events such as congress, symposium and workshop in the field.

In addition, within the scope of the protocol, Aktaş Holding will support the Sectoral Training Program (SEP), internship and finishing projects of undergraduate students studying at BTU and encourage the cooperation of graduate students in their projects and thesis.
