Hello everyone,
In this issue, I would like to mention gender equality which is one of our most important priorities as a company.
First of all, the concept of gender equality advocates that responsibilities or roles imposed on women and men in society should be regulated in an equal and collaborative manner.
Unfortunately, when we look at the status of women who make up half the world population, we see that they do not have enough visibility both in social life and in decision-making mechanisms ranging from participation in economic and political life to access to education.
Taking action to prevent this situation and increase awareness on gender equality, the United Nations has made the Gender Equality one of its priority criteria among the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in 2015.
Because, undoubtedly, one of the most important elements of the development of a society is that women and men have equal rights in every field.
As Aktaş Holding, we always act with this awareness and prioritize gender equality in current strategies and projects of our company. And we rapidly continue our investments in this regard.
As a multinational company, having business operations in 6 continents, we attach great importance to diversity and inclusion as well as quality in terms of human resources in our locations around the world.
In summary, as a company, we prioritize diversity and inclusion in our talent pool.
In support of our work in this direction, we are also signatories of the 'Women's Empowerment Principles' (WEPs) in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
In other words, as a company, we fully support the Women's Empowerment Principles, which bring together the United Nations, trade unions and non-governmental organizations, with the aim of improving gender equality and establishing corporate policies in this direction.
Therefore, by supporting gender equality in all areas of life, we fulfill their responsibilities in terms of women's participation in the labor force.
In this sense, we will continue to take decisive steps.
Best regards,
