After the First World War, occupied by the Greek army, Bursa was liberated from the captivity of the Greek soldiers on September 11, 1922 with the struggle of the heroic Turkish army and nation. On September 11, the enemy soldiers once again witnessed the courage of the people of Anatolia and we never submit to captivity.
September 11 is the day when the honorable liberation struggle led to victory for the people of Bursa who experienced the greatest pain after the Ottoman period.
We are celebrating the 97th anniversary of this great day which is marked not just by the people of Bursa but by all people across the country and we commemorate all our martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-arms, who made great efforts in the liberation of Bursa with respect, love, gratitude and mercy.
