Dear Aktas Holding stakeholder,

Since 1987, within the scope of Occupational Health and Safety Week, celebrated every year between 4-10 May, I would like to mention about occupational health and safety in this issue.

To briefly summarize the occupational health and safety notion, it can be defined as "During the process of conducting activities in the workplace, systematic studies to take necessary precautions against the conditions that may threaten human health and safety."

Without any doubt, the importance of occupational health and safety is great for workplaces and for employees. The purpose of the Occupational Safety Law, which was already enacted with this direction, is to protect the health of the employees in the workplace to the maximum level.

According to the latest report published by the United Nations International Labor Organization (ILO), 2.8 million people die annually around the world due to occupational accidents and related diseases. This figure shows how much important it is and how the issue of occupational health and safety should be taken into consideration.

Today, when we look at companies, we can say that serious steps have been taken in occupational health and safety especially in recent years and the level of awareness about this issue has been carried up to better points with each passing day.

And we, as Aktas Holding, have been carrying out effective and result oriented studies on this issue within the scope of Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Policy which we have determined with this awareness.

At this point, we continue our activities under the main headings such as Compliance Obligations, Effective Use of Natural Resources, Continuous Development, and Employee Engagement.

Our entire purpose is to create the best working conditions for the human resource, which we see as ‘our most valuable resource’ at work, and provide a healthy and safety priority for our employees. Our resolute work on this matter will also continue in the future.
