One of the most important threats to the health of people living on Earth is "smoking". There are more than 4000 chemicals in the cigarette being toxic and cancerous to the body.
Smoking directly affects human health because it is an addictive substance. According to the research done, the risk of heart attack in smokers is 3 times higher than the non-smokers. Likewise, the risk of lung cancer in smokers is 20 times higher than in non-smokers.
In addition to these, different diseases also appear in smokers. Smoking is unfortunately one of the main factors that increase the risks of cerebrovascular diseases, leg gangrene, paralysis risk, miscarriage and preterm delivery in women.
Getting rid of an addictive substance is difficult, but not impossible. For this reason, it should be committed to fighting against smoking, and if necessary, efforts should be made to get rid of this dependence by treatment methods.
February 9 every year is celebrated as World Cigarette Boycott Day in Turkey, as well as all over the world. Let’s fight against the cigarette together hand in hand.
