Bursa, where was invaded by the Greeks on the date of 9^th of July 1920, after the heroic struggle of our precious nation lasted 2 years, 2 months and 2 days, was withdrawn from the enemy armies on the date of 11^th of September 1922, and it witnessed one of the most beautiful examples of the national struggle spirit.

The Bursa people, who always come into prominence with their patriotic identity, at those dates had been the of one heart with awareness of that the homeland love and the independence was over everything, and protected our oneness, homeland and our future through a firm stand, and exhibited the success of procuring the acceptance to the friends and the enemies that the Turkish Nation cannot be held captive.

We celebrate the 94^th anniversary of this unique saga of the national struggle with the occasion of the independence of Bursa that caused experiencing the great joy and happiness across our country, and We memorialize, primarily Gazi (Veteran) Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and his brothers in arms, and all of our martyrs who struggled at too much for the independence of Bursa, with mercy and gratitude.
