Aktaş Holding, which is the leader in Turkey and among the first three companies in the world in the air suspension bellows sector, entered the Information and R&D days of Uludağ University (UU), the 3rd of which was conducted this year, with 2 important projects. 

In the event performed in the Prof. Dr. Mete Cengiz Cultural Center of Uludag University, Aktaş Holding participated in with the projects of "air suspension system with electronic control for light commercial vehicles" and "Production and testing the air suspension bellows in rail vehicles".

While Ender Akar, R&G and engineering manager of Aktaş Holding and Serdar Aydoğdu, R&D engineer, Aktaş Holding hosted the visitors in the stand area allocated to them, non-governmental organizations, public and private sector representatives and university students showed great interest to the activity lasted 3 days.Ender Akar, R&G and engineering manager of Aktaş Holding, making evaluations about the projects and activity, stated that they live the happiness of being a part in this meaningful activity organized by the Uludağ University.

"We provide advantages to the country with the projects we perform"

Conveying that they involved in 2 important projects in the activity where 367 poster presentation was made, Akar said "Our "air suspension system with electronic control for light commercial vehicles" project was started with the aim of meeting the demand which will arise as the the obligation of air suspension system is imposed on the vehicles making passenger transportation and ambulances with the new laws in Turkey and countries abroad. Thanks to this project, it will be ensured that the system is settled by decreasing the dependency to the abroad and import and our export potential will be increased with products with high value added. There is no air suspension system with electronic control and sensor in the country. Because of this, the ones who wish to make the air bellow system assembly in their vehicle are dependent on the aborad; the cost of the kits purchased is high and procurement of spare parts requires high and long terms. With the kits to be developed the possible problems will be eliminated and new domestic suppliers and support industries will be established as a result of that the equipment belonging to the system to be established is produced in cooperation with the domestic suppliers".

"University-industry cooperation is important"

Continuing his explanations on the projects, Akar used the phrases of "The project of "Production and testing the air suspension bellows in rail vehicles" was prepared for the production of air suspension bellows, which are a part of the suspension systems in the rail vehicles. The rail vehicle bellows, the production of which is realized, will be presented to the domestic and abroad markets. The contribution was provided to the studies made for the production of the railway vehicles in the country with the air suspension bellows obtained as a result of the project studies. We think that a successful university - industry cooperation is realized with this project where a commercialized product with high added value is obtained."
