The date of May 19th, 1919, which is the day when Mustafa Kemal Ataturk arrived Samsun became one of the turning points in our history with respect that Turkish nation won the full independency and rescuing the country from being captive with the dominant powers with the national struggle spirit.
In the days when all the hopes were started to be ceased, Gazi Mustafa Kemal, lighting the wick of the torch of independency, departing from Samsun, saw youth as the future of our country on this subject when foundations of the Turkish Republic was laid.
Such that, Ataturk, who mentioned his trust and belief to youth on all occasions, wanted us to be a single body against the ones who dare to disturb our peace and security by clamping together more with each other, against all kinds of attacks and threats realized for ruining our unity and solidarity.
May 19, presented to youth who are the future of the country by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, is continued to be celebrated with various shows and ceremonies across Turkey with an enthusiasm growing every year as the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
We remember all martyrs and veterans, struggling for the sake of this homeland, especially great commander Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his comrades in arms, who struggled at the cost of their lives, for establishing the independency and indivisible integrity of the country.
We celebrate the May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day of the youth who were seen as the future of the Turkish Republic by Ataturk.
