Aktaş Education Foundation has signed a very special activity in the scope of the social responsibility activities and gave full support to the “audio book” project providing benefit to the visually impaired individuals.
Aktaş Education Foundation has started the book reading activities in the organization of Aktaş Holding for a digital library providing support to reach the information by helping that the visually impaired individuals read book, article, course notes, and daily newspapers vocalized in Turkish and English by establishing in 2006 by the Visually Impaired Technology and Education Laboratory (GETEM) of Bosporus University.
In the scope of the “audio book” project, to which the board of directors of Aktaş Holding gave great support, Aktaş Holding personnel has taken the first step in the demo records with the reading days started in the May 11 visual day.
After the lacking points are removed by making the sound recording with the scale of the compatibility of the tone of voice and diction, at first, of the Aktaş Holding personnel, supporting the project in the book vocalization activities, it is targeted that the selected books are started to be vocalized in the suitable time zone as the book selection was made among the books requested to be sounded by the Aktaş Education Foundation to GETEM.

“We shouldn’t leave them alone”
Aktaş, saying that “We should provide the necessary support under all circumstances to the disabled citizens and not leave them on their own”, gave the promise that they would do their best for popularizing this useful activity across the society when conveying her thanks to everybody who gave support to the project.
